What is The Hope Workshop?

A practical session led by Dr Zakia Akhter, a GP, family therapist and Islamic studies teacher. It brings together medical insight, psychology and prophetic wisdom in a relaxed and supported way, with stories, simple practices and time to connect with other sisters.

Nobody has to share anything or speak in front of the group. You are welcome to simply listen.

Who is it for?

  • Muslim women who have felt stuck with low mood, sadness, exhaustion or heaviness.
  • Sisters who have not felt like themselves for a while and are not sure why.
  • Women who want support without judgement, from an approach that respects both science and faith.
  • Anyone who would like a gentle first step. You do not need a diagnosis, and you do not need to label what you are going through.

What you will take away

💛 Understand what your low mood is really trying to tell you.

🌙 Learn simple, soothing practices to calm your mind, body and heart.
