About Dr Zakia Akhter

Â
Trained in Islamic studies, mental health, systemic family therapy and life coaching, Dr Zakia's compassionate, holistic approach has helped many women all over the world move from low mood and overwhelm to peace, joy and connection.
Â
As the architect of the UK NHS’s first Islam-based therapy (CBT) programme delivered in 2016, Dr Zakia pioneered a model of care that combines both Islam and psychology. At Hope Cave, Dr Zakia distills her decades of experience into a gentle yet practical roadmap called the Science and Sunnah method. Her signature course - 4 Steps To Heal Depression With Science And Sunnah - is transforming how Muslim women approach mental health—replacing shame and confusion with kindness, insight and change.
